CHCANYS

Background:
Since 2003, NYC DOHMH has partnered with CHCANYS to engage the NYC primary care sector to advance emergency preparedness planning through the provision of technical assistance, training, and disaster preparedness exercises.

DOHMH has integrated primary care health centers into the New York City Health Care Coalition (NYCHCC) and citywide response planning to ensure that all New Yorkers, including those who are medically underserved, have continuous access to high-quality community-based healthcare services during an emergency.

Mission:
Is to support primary care emergency preparedness and response activities among NYC’s Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) to prepare for, respond to and recover from public health emergencies and or disasters.
