Borough Coalitions

Borough Sub-Coalitions include health care and non-health care facilities and organizations within each NYC borough. Largely defined by borough boundaries and often administratively anchored by local/neighborhood hospitals, Borough Sub-Coalitions are collaborative networks of health care organizations and their respective public and private sector partners. The founding role of Borough Coalitions was to improve emergency preparedness in their communities. Over time, however, as membership in these coalitions grew to include non-acute health care and non-health care community members, most Borough Sub-Coalitions have assumed a role in disaster response and recovery as well, hoping to ensure even higher overall quality health and mental health outcomes within their geographies.
